What we are witnessing today—the ongoing genocide perpetrated by the Zionist institutional system against our people in Gaza since October 7, 2023—is not an isolated event. It is a continuation of decades of genocide, displacement, war crimes, and crimes against humanity that began in 1948.
Furthermore, eight refugee camps in Gaza have been totally decimated, and three refugee camps in the West Bank cities of Jenin and Tulkarm have been partially destroyed, with 45,000 people displaced.
The genocide regime in apartheid Israel has closed all UN Refugee and Works Agency (UNRWA) facilities and headquarters in Jerusalem and elsewhere. They have outlawed UNRWA in Jerusalem and Gaza in a systematic process to diminish the legal classification and status of refugees.
These crimes are unfolding in full view of the world. As a result, the colonial-settler nature of the Zionist project and state is being increasingly exposed and challenged.
This moment raises urgent questions:
- How can we transform the unprecedented global solidarity with Gaza and occupied Palestine into a concrete, strategic action plan?
- How can the international chant—“Free, free Palestine, from the river to the sea
Palestine shall be free”—be translated into a coordinated global campaign for the Right of Return?
- And most critically, how can we help the people of Gaza and Palestinian refugees everywhere return to their displaced villages and cities, not as a symbolic aspiration, but as an enforceable right?
This moment presents a historic opportunity to move from solidarity to implementation, and from moral outrage to legal and political transformation. We are reaching out to potential endorsers and strategic partners to collaboratively submit a concept note to the International Criminal Court (ICC), supported by documented testimonies from refugee survivors, as part of a coordinated legal and advocacy effort.
