What Are Israel Bonds?

Israel Bonds are unrestricted loans to the Israeli government. The state treasury and fifteen counties across the state currently own over $330,000,000 dollars worth of Israel Bonds. This means that Ohio taxpayers are lending the Israeli government $330,000,000 to economically sustain its brutal occupation, systems of apartheid, military infrastructure, illegal settlement expansion, and genocidal campaign against Palestinians.

What Do We Want?

We want all public entities in Ohio to cease investment in foreign bonds (Israel Bonds are currently the only foreign bonds public entities can invest in). Instead, we want this money to be redirected to investments, such as municipal bonds, that strengthen our infrastructure, enhance our communities, and create good-paying union jobs.

Where Are the Israel Bonds?

The Ohio State Treasury currently holds $262,500,000 worth of Israel Bonds, while counties across the state hold $72,030,000 worth of the bonds.

See the tables below for a breakdown.

*Athens County is currently in violation of state law as they refuse to make their investment reports public.

You can find your county’s investment report here. You can find the state treasury’s investment reports here.

We have already scored significant divestment victories in Summit and Lucas counties. We need you to help us get the rest of our money out of genocide and back into our communities!
